Kinship: A Community Conversation & New Call-for-engagement
Wednesday, April 13th, 7pm EDT via Zoom (with upcoming additional dates and times in consideration of different time zones)
Six Feet is launching a new call-for-engagement in partnership with the Center for Humans and Nature that revolves around the theme of Kinship.
Through the relational and transformative medium of photography, we will be exploring what it means to deepen our engagement and connection with the more-than-human world and each other. This photographic exploration takes inspiration from Donna Haraway’s groundbreaking work on multi-species environmental justice and the Kinship: Belonging in A World of Relations book series published by the Center for Humans and Nature.
We will have our first community-wide planning meeting this Wednesday. As a sympoetic community (making together) we rely on your input and treasure your engagement. We invite you to share your thoughts, ideas, and concerns as we create this call and the upcoming practice groups. If this is not a good time for you please send us an email so that we can schedule additional community conversations that take your time zone into consideration.
Additionally, we are building a diverse community of partners for online programs, image distribution, online and in-person exhibitions, and curated collections for periodicals, journals, and catalogs.
Please join us! No really, please do. We need you.
