Anatomy of a Home with Frances Bukovsky

February 4 - March 1, Monday’s at 6 pm ET

How do we make images in our homes after we've exhausted our homes as subject for almost a year during social isolation? This practice group is an in-depth exploration of making images in the home lead by photographer and image-maker Frances Bukovsky (she/they).

Over five weeks from February to March this practice group will dive into daily life and the relationship of the participants to the homes they occupy room by room. This practice group is for all levels of photographers and will be centered around ideas and concepts rather than the technical aspects of photography.

Bukovsky’s art practice is centered around her lived experience of chronic illness. She graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2018, earning a BFA with Honors in Photography and Imaging. Her work has been published internationally, and her first monograph, Vessel, was published by Fifth Wheel Press in 2020. Bukovsky is currently working on her next photo book project alongside Korax Press Project about her relationship to home as a high risk individual during Covid-19.

Participants will be expected to:

1. Make work weekly around the weekly theme.

2. Come ready to reflect on and experiment with image making and relationship in the home.
